Passing of Charter Member Charles T. 'Duke' Johnson

Charles T. 'Duke' Johnson, the last surviving Charter Member of the Laytonsville District VFD, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. Serving the department throughout his life, most notably, Duke was the chairman of the building committee for where we now reside after the devastating fire in 1965. Duke is also the father of Life Member and retired MCFRS Capt. Dale Johnson, who served the last few years of his career at station 17 on A-Shift, as the Station Commander, Uncle to Deputy Chief Charles M. Richards, Jr., and Great Uncle to FF Timothy Richards.

Visitation - Monday, January 23, 2017 11 AM to 12 Noon at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 21720 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882
Funeral Service - 12 Noon on Monday, January 23, 2017
