By Vice President Mike Russ
May 13, 2020

On May 13, 2020, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan held a press conference in regards to the Roadmap of Recovery for the State of Maryland.

Starting Friday, May 15, 2020 at 5 PM, the following restrictions will be eased:

- The stay-at-home order has been modified to a "safer-at-home" advisory.

- Retail businesses can reopen up to 50% capacity with strict safety precautions.

- Manufacturing can resume operations with the state issuing guidelines encouraging multiple shifts and physical distancing, among other safety precautions.

- Some personal services, such as barbershops and hair salons, may reopen at 50% capacity, and by appointment only.

- Churches and Houses of Worship may begin to hold religious services. Outdoor services are recommended, and indoor services will be limited to 50% capacity, with requirements for masks and social distancing.

Gov. Hogan said that county leaders who do not feel comfortable entering Phase One of the recovery plan can delay when their municipalities ease restrictions.

At this time Montgomery County is still seeing rising numbers of COVID-19 cases as well as deaths due to the virus. Montgomery County will move more slowly to lift the current restrictions once these numbers begin to drop and level out.
