On July 24, 2024, Laytonsville held their regular July Company Meeting. First, we met new MCFRS Fire Chief Corey Smedley and he toured the station. During the meeting, Chief Smedley and Division Chief Mike Kelley presented the Silver Medal of Valor to Laytonsville Chief Stanley "Buddy" Sutton Jr. for his heroic actions at a house fire when he rescued a resident from the burning home in 2022. Although Buddy has been recognized several times for his actions on this call, it was special that this took place inside our firehouse. We appreciate the Chiefs visit. Great job Buddy !!!
