The Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department received their brand new 2021 Spartan/Rescue 1 rescue squad a few weeks ago. This rescue squad was purchased by Montgomery County.

This rescue squad has a full compliment of rescue equipment with all battery powered extrication tools, fans for smoke ventilation, power saws and every possible hand and power tool available. This unit responds to vehicle collisions, service calls, fire related calls and any specialized rescue such as collapse, water rescue, technical rope and backup on metro incidents.
